Manitoba
Alongside Hope Development Project
Four Sacred Hearts is a grassroots Indigenous-led organization dedicated to healing from addictions, second and third intergenerational trauma and the impacts of the residential school system. Four Sacred Hearts share stories of wisdom, healing, understanding, and providing education on how ex-gang members from Manitoba changed their lives to work for the Creator.
Many of the youth, adults and/or people who attend Four Sacred Hearts struggle with making positive choices in their lives. Four Sacred Hearts provide a sense of well-being and purpose with our youth through the connection to culture. Four Sacred Hearts works to break cycles by reconnecting indigenous people with culture, ceremonies, and community through compassion, learning from others and offering the gift of drumming (the heartbeat of Mother Earth as healing medicine).
Four Sacred Hearts’ Heart and Spirit Drum Circle will be offered weekly, providing traditional teachings on two of the four indigenous sacred medicines, teachings of the drum but also the gift of songs where the youth can find their voice. We will close with a sharing circle followed by a traditional feast.
